When you make a conscious choice to be happy, no one can take it away from you because no one gave it to you: you gave it to yourself.

WOYWW 206

Hello!

I confess I wasn't planning on linking up this week, too many things going on, but then I found myself taking photos of my desk and I thought it would be rude not to use them!

Not much changed this side, more stamps on that pile, pens out and radio on, not that you can hear it.........it's Talksport (Surprised? No, didn't think so!) in case you wanted to know!

More images, yep I'm still printing, but they are new images.

A tag, for me, because it was my birthday yesterday so I've made this to go in my Project 2013 Smash book  (It's on the window sill!) as a kind of book mark but also because I love this image, and in my head I think I look like her, complete with blue hair!!

Okay pop over to The Queen of all desks, Julia to link up, nose and make new friends.
May not get to many of you just yet, having a few issues with Baxter, so am crate training in the hope this will ease his Separation Anxiety, but it's taking baby steps to build his confidence. Any advice?

Take care Zo xx

I'm still feeling guilty about not getting a card done for you... but lovely to see your desk again today! Talksport doesn't surprise me as your station of choice, knowing your tendancies, though I don't like it personally (too many ads!) I am a Radio 5 girl!! Helen 16

Happy WOYWW and Happy Birthday for yesterday! Love the tag - fab blue hair. Re. Baxter - just keep on with the crate training. He will get there. I have had some foster dogs here in the past with very severe separation anxiety and they do settle eventually. Just a good routine, plenty of exercise before you leave him, leave the radio or tv on (I had a Peke who loved to watch the tv, especially if she heard certain voices), perhaps use a stuffed Kong or a chewy bone (if I do that with mine they wouldn't even notice I am not there!) and do not make a fuss when you leave or return. Happy Birthday for yesterday- and we need to see a picture of you with blue hair!

I know what you mean about not linking up but sometimes you just can't help yourself and it kind of happens without your conscious decision to... LOL

Thanks for stopping by!

Fantastic colouring Zo!! And very like you if I might say :)

I think Ali's advice is good re. Baxter - she seems to have plenty of experience.

Belated Happy Birthday my little friend!

Oh poop Zo...I missed your birthday! Happy Belated Birthday wishes to you :D
Your desk looks very orderly and I love that radio!
As for advice for Baxter...well I have never tried the crate method. I think Mufftypup would have had a fit if I'd have tried that but I know it works. I just wasn't tough enough to try.
I agree with all the advice from Ali too. I used to leave her with a rubber toy that had a whole in for treats...she used to push that thing around the house for hours and never know anyone else existed never mind me nipping out! That reminds me she hasn't seen that for years, so it will be good to bring it out one day if I can find it in her old toy box.
She's really good now when I leave as I just tend to tell her she's good and I use the same hand gesture to let her know that I'm leaving but will be back. She settles in her bed most times. If you go out of the house even to sit in the garden for a few minutes and then return perhaps taking longer each time then he will get the jist that yes you leave but you always come back!
I think you're doing brilliantly so don't get discouraged...it'll all work out, it just takes a little time to get to know each other ^..^
Have fun that's the main thing. xoxo

So that's what you look like in real life ... not bad at all :) Love the blue hair and the way her sleeves are tooooooo long! Belated birthday wishes - won't ask how old. I don't believe either of my dogs (now no longer with us) ever suffered from separation anxiety so have nothing helpful to add. Hope Baxter settles soon. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #36
