When you make a conscious choice to be happy, no one can take it away from you because no one gave it to you: you gave it to yourself.

WOYWW 203 - My new fur baby!

Oh yes it's Wednesday again and that means we show our desks, but as well as that I wanted to share who's in my craft room!

Baxter!

My little Terrier X who is an older gentleman aged 7. I adopted him he is a Companion dog. He has his own issues so can't managed long walks and sleeps a lot. He seems to settle best in my craft room both when I'm in there and he's starting to settle being left in there on his own. I have done both half an hr and 45 mins 'leaving'. Longer spells today.

Anyway here he is all snuggled up -

Now for my desk -

Not surprisingly there are Baxter related things including the folder I was given when I adopted him, his Smash book, my weekly Smash book and some books I bought to help me train Baxter to do what I want him to do.

All very new but fun. I'm learning how to be a 'Pack leader' so that he respects me and follows my commands. He already waits for me to go up or down the stairs and will only follow when I give the okay! He's also learning to let me & Keagan go ahead of him. He seemed calmer yesterday will clear boundaries and 'order' so I'm hoping I have found the right way to look after him. Fingers crossed!

Don't forgot to pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground to link up, am sure you'll find other pets in craft rooms too!

Take care Zo xx

Just one or two markers then... Glad Baxter is settling in with you. I went back to the lower stool, better to have leg ache than back/neck I think!! Helen. 2

Congratulations on the adoption going through ... Baxter looks cute. I've scrolled down and I think he looks as though he has some corgi in him ... not the right colour but his face reminds me of the corgi, Corrie, my father gave me for my 15th birthday. Baxter sounds as though he is settling down nicely and how clever of him to be keeping his very own smash book :)) Thanks for sharing. Have a great WOYWW and an enjoyable week. Elizabeth x #53

Baxter is gorgeous. Well done getting him to wait at stairs, you'll be pack leader soon. He knows when he's well off.

I love how you are embracing your commitment to Baxter and I'm sure he'll settle well in such a caring home. He is lovely and I also love his hippo toy! Well done to you and I hope he brings lots of fun and joy,

Loving the fur baby :0) He looks as if he belongs there - lush! You could always ask him to tell you what he thinks of his new home, so you can include his account in your Baxter Smash...you can tell I've been in my imaginary world this week, eh! Joined in with WOYWW but won't be visiting till the weekend - am trying to write now and tomorrow. TC xxx

Glad he is settling in well. You will be a great pack leader, your calming influence will be perfect (so long as he doesn't see or hear you during a match!! tee hee!!).

Hi zo
sounds like Baxter is at home already, a couple more days and you will forget what it was like before you had him. Are you bringing him to the crop or is he more of a stay at home chap. My dog doesn't go in the car any more, too stressfull!
thanks for sharing

Oh it must be so much fun to have a dog around - I used to have a dog, but he died and since then I haven't had a new one because I travel so much and it is hard to leave the dog with other people! My daughter has adopted a dog and went to "dog school" with her and yes I think it is very important that you show who is boss! Ha, ha...
Lots of hugs,
Cardarian

Sweet. They always are, till they eat the entire roast off the counter, or consume an entire sofa cushion (mine did that once - we had the mom, she had the litter, we lept one, and the tow of them were DIABOLICAL together) On the upside, think of all the lovely projects you can do with a doggy theme....

:)

Happy WOYWW!
