I confess it has been a little while since I shared my desk with you all. But today, I am back sharing with everyone over at Julia's - the Stamping Ground WOYWW569
This lockdown has seen me spending a lot of time either in my garden or yard enjoying the glorious weather or I have been pottering in my craft room. I've signed up to do a Criminal Psychology course - something I've wanted to do for ages and it's a course that builds on my previous studies.
I've also been colouring a lot. Anyone that knows me will know colouring is my thing. I am constantly wanting to learn and improve so I do the monthly classes from Kit and Clowder to help learn new techiques and brush up on what I already know.
Here's my rather busy desk -
There's a Black and Decker laser line - I do a lot of free hand writing and I saw a lady use one of these laser lines on Instagram and thought that's a great idea so I ordered one. There are a couple of books with paper cutting templates and projects. I've not tried it so wanted to see and the plastic bag actually holds a starter kit for resin jewellery/projects. Again I've not tried it so thought I'd give it a go. I do have some clay to make embellishments so these molds would work with that as well.
This is my colouring side - there's my ongoing colouring project that I'm doing following the March Kit and Clowder class. My large collection on Copics. That tea tin is great for keeping my art extras - paper blending stumps, pencil extenders things like that. There's my address books and reading journal. Plus a notebook that I'm using to keep a diary during this Covid19 crisis. I'm recording facts and documenting what is happening with myself and Keagan.
My boys (Keagan, my son and Asher, my Jack Russell) have enjoyed playing in the garden together.
Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing your desks and catching up with you all.
Take care Zoe
Zoe!! It's so great to see you on the desks again xxx. I'm so pleased to see that you've got lots of things to keep you occupied, the course sounds very interesting and I remember that you've studied similar in the past. But the thing that is absolute genius is the laser line to do your calligraphy on - brilliant idea! Pencil lines never quite rub out properly.

welcome back Zoe. You certainly have a major collection of Copics. I have the full range of Derwent Inktense colours on their way so I am looking forward to having a play with them. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Zoe, for commenting on my blog. It is so nice to see yours and give me thoughts on what to do with my mojo later (after the cleaning. Thank you so much for sharing and again thank you for your sweet comment.
ReplyDeleteHello Zoe! I too love coloring. I signed up a long time ago for a skin and hair with Kit and Clowder but didn't finish it. I think she is so talented. I would like to do her monthly but not sure I would stick with it. I started with Copics and took classes year ago to get my certification. For the last two years I have been playing around with different mediums (colored pencils, watercolor pencils and watercolor paints). I am happy to meet a kindred spirit.
ReplyDeleteStay well and pop on by when you have time!
Hi Zoe, nice to see you back again. Pleased to see you keeping busy and I notice you have one of those little hanging bins on your desk. One of the ladies at the craft club had a spare one and let me have it, they're very useful. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts, much appreciated. Take care and have a very happy woyww, Angela x15x
ReplyDeleteLovely colouring, which I was as enthusiastic at colouring as you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit BJ#17
Hi Zoe, it's lovely to see you back on the desks. It looks like you have a lot going on - the Criminal Psychology course sounds fascinating and a natural step forward if you have already got a background of interest and other studies in it.
ReplyDeleteI love the Copics - how appealing they look in all their full glory like that, and the laser line marker sounds like a brilliant idea.
Have a good week and stay safe and well,

Hi Zoe, looks like you have lots of lovely things to keep you occupied and new things to start when the urge comes, there's always so much more to learn regarding colouring it's a beautiful & rewarding hobby.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing WoywW & nice to meet you Tracey #14
Hi lovely lady, good to see you here again! Glad you've been keeping occupied and hope you enjoy the course. I almost wish I didn't have work to keep me so busy with the day job with all the things I could be doing, but it's probably as best I do! Take care and stay safe. Helen #4

Isnt it wonderful that we can all get out into the sunshine which is great for our bodies and enjoy what the universe has to offer. Wow Criminal Psychology - that is interesting, cant wait to hear how you go. You can have colouring, I cant colour to save my life unless I dont have to shade or shadow then I am god lol.
ReplyDeleteooh can I get a closeup of that page with the squares you are colouring just by the scissors please, it looks scrumptious.

Hi Zoe, welcome back! It's lovely to see you on here again. I do hope your health problems have been treating you kindly since we last had any news. Lovely that your son is with you. I seem to remember he was about to do something really exciting but I'm afraid I can't remember what it was! Your colouring is awesome and I love your rainbow of markers and the colour chart too. I had never heard of the Black and Decker laser line so I googled it and I've just spent about 20 minutes watching videos about them - what a clever little gadget! A great idea to use it for making calligraphy lines. That's what I call thinking outside the box.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit - so glad you liked what I've been doing. As you can see, I am doing my own colouring these days. I am so glad I invested in the Tombow brush markers - they are water based and blend fantastically, especially if you gesso the surface first to make it less absorbent. I don't have any copics.
Happy WOYWW,
