Friday Smiles - week 150

Happy Friday!

I'm back to join up with Annie and her Friday smiles - my smiles this week are all about my Companion dog Baxter. He is a Terrier X. Though what no one seems to agree!

I rescued him in 2013. He is now 10 and has always had many issues due to his upbringing and poor treatment. Behaviourist were very worried about him when he first went to the home. Even setting up a video to monitor him. But they quickly worked out he was so scared of the kennel noise and other dogs!

He improved a lot with them once they moved him away from dogs and into a quieter area. He also has legs problem where the bones didn't grow properly. So he can't do long walks yet has energy to burn. He thinks he's still 2 I swear!

So I fell in love with him & took him home. It's been hard but over the last 2 and half years we have come a long way. I have the time & patience to work with him you see. He is my best friend - always by my side or on my lap! In fact he is on my lap now as I type.

Take care Zo xx

  1. How lovely Zo. Many have posted pics of their dogs today and as a dog lover it's really making me smile. I have just booked our elderly furry friend in for shampoo and clip on Tuesday so he will be all posh for when Santa comes 😀 I love it when he's clipped cos he has beautiful brown eyes and we get to see more of them after 😀 Have a great week and thanks for sharing your smiles with us.
    Hugs,
    Annie x

  2. That is so good of you to give this dog a good home. He was obviously mistreated (if his legs haven't developed as they should). He looks a real sweetie. (I don't suppose he always is...)
    Thanks for me already,
    Lisca

  4. Hello Zo,

Congratulations to YOU and your companion! Those that have behavioral issues or health issues seem to be the last adopted. He's lucky that you found eachother!

Love the many photos but I especially like the one where he's sitting on your craft area!

    Hugs,
    Kay

  5. Hi Zo, he's a very lucky dog to have found you. I have had rescued dogs in the past and I know the problems associated with them which can be very difficult to overcome at times but if we can give them a happy life they can become true friends. All they need is a little loving care which every dog deserves. Give him a big hug from me, Maisie and Stanley.
    Take care, Angela x
