WOYWW 157 - changing location

Okay, I know this doesn't fit the 'On my desk today' idea exactly, but I thought I'd share this photo of me that my boy took yesterday. My alternative Jubilee desk!

I couldn't go a whole day without colouring something so I took my pen boxes and images downstairs, into the lounge where I hijacked the tv table so that I could watch the Jubilee service and parade while doing some colouring.

You can see my boxes stacked up on the sofa, I keep my markers all in colour families. There's the pile of images on the arm of the sofa - yes most are Saturated Canary!

So what's on my actual desk today, well to be honest, there isn't anything. Everything has been put away so the desk is clear (you lot know what a tidy crafter I am!), and I thought a photo of my non stick craft mat might put you off visiting me again.........hmmmm I suppose a photo of me might do that too. Oh well!

Right pop over to Julia's The Stamping Ground to see what everyone else keeps on their desks or wherever they happen to craft!

Apologies for not getting round too many of you last week, I wanted to, believe me, but I just couldn't think straight, what alone type anything worth reading, but if I did visit you but made little sense, well sorry about that too!

Take care Zo xx
PS If you want to see a more creative post, have a look at the post below where I share my new found love of Smash Books!

  1. Hi Zo, I got round a few last week, then forgot where I got to!! I have a habit of forgetting to press the button! I have a craft room but still end up on the dining room/living room table!

  4. Happy WOYWW. I often take some crafting into the living room - colouring or cutting out, which I can do on my lap with my glass cutting mat. Thank you for visiting my workspace this week. Yes, I am feeling better this morning (had a flare up of IBS, which is thankfully less common now, but horrible when it hits). Ali x #54

  13. Hi Zo, can't think of a better way of enjoying the celebrations - I'm afraid I was not so industrious and for much of the time simply vegetated on the sofa :) Because of all those major distraction over the protracted holiday weekend, I seriously think that very few of us actually visited everyone ... you're not alone :) Hope you have a good day, a better week, and Happy WOYWW. 23. Jo, I have done the same as you on many occasions, in fact I have the same table too. I loved all the Jubilee Celebrations too, and watched our very gracious Queen put up with all that she had to do. She must have missed her husband at her side as they rarely do anything without one another. Enjoy your day. Hugs Rita 17. xxx

  28. You are a dedicated colourer, aren't you, Zo?! I'd be too busy fondling all the different pencils and markers to get any actual crafting done! You'll have to let me know which is your favorite medium and if the Copics are worth the money. (Great picture BTW!)

  32. I know what you mean and that is when my knitting comes out. However, my computer can get TV via the satellite so I could craft whilst watching except the floatilla and concert. At least I could hear when the good bits were coming on!

  39. I just cannot craft in front of the TV. I find it too distracting, even if it is the most mindless drivel ever on there. I'm impressed with those who can. Nowadays TV time means making a lap for a cat or 3. My hubby always looks over at me with a pile of cats between us and asks what we did to deserve this fate? I like having pre-colored images though. I need to stamp some up for the next time my craft group meets so I actually accomplish something.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love working on things like that in front of the TV! I am in the US so I know nothing of the Jubilee, except what I've heard on the news but I've visited many people today who were doing the same as you! Watching and crafting!
And you should keep your non stick craft mat away from me!!! You saw I have a problem with cutting them!!

  48. I did exactly the same! Except mine was a tea tray on my lap, one of those with the bean bag under the tray so it sits flat. Was great watching the river pageant with the family and still being able to craft, but I had to keep running upstairs to get stuff I needed from my craft stash! Still, good exercise :-)

Thanks for stopping by my desk and leaving me a comment...I know what you mean about not wanting to put off the woywwer's...so last week I just let things get completely out of hand on my desk! I haven't done that in ages but I did it again this week, or I should say I will...unless I have the uncontrollable urge to tidy it up between now and Wednesday. Nah! Won't happen! :)

  70. Hi Zo,

Firstly, thanks for your lovely comment on my WOYWW post!

Secondly, I can't believe how tidy a crafter you are! I do 'mostly tidy' crafting and some people tell me it's too tidy, but yours is waaaaay tidier than mine! It's nice, though, to shake up the habits sometimes so a bit of crafting on the sofa is always a good thing. I'm loving all your markers... I've just recently started my collection since my local Hobbycraft were having an offer on that was too good to refuse! Now, I just need to learn how to use them properly!!

    Thanks again for the comment.
