Imogen's Mirror

Wow go me, 2 posts in one day!

Making up for the fact that I haven't posted very much lately.  My good friend's recently had a baby daughter, and as a present from me I agreed to decorate an old mirror in the same style as their chosen theme for the nursery. It was a difficult job as I only had a photo of the border they had chosen. So I got to work picking out the colours and drawing the characters. I admit I cheated in the fact that I drew and painted onto watercolour card not straight onto the mirror. I was worried about messing it up and thought at least if I did go wrong on the card I could start again with no problems.  I decided to put Imogen's name on the mirror too. As you can see some parts are painted onto the mirror and others are stuck on. I did spray over the top a light dusting of Crafter's Companion's Spray & sparkle to give the mirror a bit of bling (it is a little girl after all!) and also to hopefully protect it a bit.

I also added Card Candy, I had just the right colours and wanted to give the mirror that crafted feel. Overall I'm pleased with it, the trees and characters are as good and as near to the design as I could managed, plus I wanted it to have that child-likeness about it.
